In n recent decades, Middle East (which includes Bahrain, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Israel, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Syria, the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Yemen) has seen as much economic and political change as any area in the world and this has a direct impact on the region's garment and textile industry. Although traditionally, the proximity of the Middle East to the EU - the region's largest trade partner - posted growth potential for its textile and apparel industry, external headwinds from a slowing global economy and economic contraction in the Euro Area has also contributed to the region's weak non-oil exports.
