China makers are boosting production of Bluetooth speakers that can charge other devices without the wires thanks to Qi compatibility. One model in this selection adopts a TI charging solution for powering up smartphones and tablets while playing music continuously. Dual-USB ports are also employed in some products, enabling them to charge devices at the same time. In terms of connectivity, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR is common but several units allow NFC pairing. Suppliers are also banking on multifunctionality to boost business, highlighting speakers that work as an alarm clock or a temperature display. Handsfree calls are allowed in some variants.
