Back in April, US. satellites tracked a cloud of pollutants that originated from China waft across the Pacific Ocean and ultimately onto the west coast of the United States. Days later, researchers found that their mountaintop equipment sprinkled with carbon, sulphur compounds and other byproducts of coal combustion.
