The Australian and Indian conducted a two-week long bilateral maritime exercise code-named AUSINDEX. The current edition of the exercise had the participation of the highest number of units so far with four frontline ships with integral helicopters, one submarine and a variety of aircraft including the P8I and P8A long-range maritime reconnaissance anti-submarine warfare aircraft of both navies. Australia's HMA Ships Canberra, Success, Newcastle and Parramatta, supported by the submarine HMAS Collins were also deployed.
