LIMA '13 Damn the Torpedoes,Full Speed Ahead

Malaysia's Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (LIMA) exhibition is ready to take its place, despite the date change, the general election, which is around the corner and a major terrorist intrusion incident in the country's eastern state of Sabah bordering south Philippines. With all this looming in the background, it is not actually a case of "Damn the Torpedoes, Full Speed Ahead" for the organisers and the host government but they said that this edition of the Langkawi show is expected to be a sucess nonetheless. To be staged at the Mahsuri International Exhibition Centre and Awana Porto Malai from March 26 to 30, a number of key homeland security industry players will also be participating for the first time in LIMA '13 under a new focus pavilion, the Safety and Security Pavilion, aimed to contribute to the regional growth of this increasingly important sector. Modern state-of-the-art aircraft and vessels will undoubtedly be the main attractions of the show. This particular venue is expected to be the final battleground for top combat aircraft manufacturers to showcase their fighters' capabilities for Malaysia's multi-role combat aircraft (MRCA) programme.
