Defence ministers from the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) gathered here May 7 to discuss measures and actions to further cement defence and security cooperation in the 10-nation bloc. Under the theme "Securing Our People, Our Future Together," the seventh Asean Defence Ministers Meeting (ADMM) aims to boost mutual trust and confidence through increased understanding of defence and security challenges as well as enhancement of transparency and openness. The three-day meeting emphasised Asean members' role in its community building process and highlighted the importance of people-centred Asean as it looks forward to the future.
