PLA to Debut in Cobra Gold

China's People's Liberation Army troops took part in the multilateral military exercise Cobra Gold, led by the US and Thailand, for the first time, said the Chinese Ministry of National Defence. The 2014 exercise, which began Feb 11 in Thailand's Phitsanulok, will involve forces from eight countries including Thailand, the US, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore and South Korea in a range of drills. Seventeen Chinese soldiers, mainly from the Guangzhou Military Area Command, will participate in humanitarian relief drills.
