Dalian Sanyo Cold Chain: The Service Industrialization as a New Development Engine

It was 1st February 2008, a week before the Chinese New Year. Dalian Sanyo Cold Chain Co., Ltd. (DSC) was busy preparing for its annual victory meeting. 14 years since starting up, DSC had been number one in the Chinese display case and commercial kitchen equipment market. Everyone at DSC was immersing in the joy, except Mr Ji, the general manager. His brow was furrowed with worry. "Where's the way out for service industrialization?" DSC began to implement the service industrialization in its display case business in 2005. After a three-year incubation, DSC had struck its way and started to make profit. However, it cannot be denied that the future of service industrialization was still full of uncertainties. What should DSC do next, to expand the service industrialization to other businesses or to continue to integrate advantageous resources to hang on to the current business?
