Unicom gets fixed boost while CDMA doubts raised

China's Ministry of Railways (MOR) has reportedly announced plans to inject its network communications business into China Unicom, thereby enabling the second-ranked operator to launch fixed-line domestic long-distance services. Analysts say Unicom now has government approval for DLD, after recently being granted rights to enter the lucrative intermational call market. Unicorn already offers IP telephony services to 12 Chinese cities in competition with China Telecom.
