摘要

Australia's wealthy but relatively small TV and telecoms market continues to be a hotbed of intrigue even though Telstra, Rupert Murdoch's News Corp. and Kerry Packer's Publishing and Broadcasting (PBL) still dominate the telecoms, pay TV and terrestrial TV markets. The three giants continue to circle each other with suspicion — despite ostensibly working together as owners of pay TV market leader Foxtel - with each partner fearing, with some justification, that one of the others either covets its core business or is anxious to block its expansion.
