China Netcom Trials Ftth And Fixed Wimax

Hong kong-listed China Netcom Group is conducting trials of fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) technology in the Beijing region, the company announced this month. The announcement sees CNG following in the footsteps of China Telecom, which has already begun testing FTTH. Cng also said that it is trialing 802.16d WiMAX services in southern China. The company says it has yet to begin mobile WiMAX trials because terminals, standards and frequencies for 802.16e are not in place.
