Airtel Bangladesh joins rivals in October 3G launch

Airtel Bangladesh, part of India's Bharti Airtel group, yesterday announced that it will launch a 3G 2100MHz mobile network in selected parts of Dhaka and Chittagong next month, before expanding the W-CDMA/ HSPA service to Sylhet by November and all seven divisional headquarters of Bangladesh by December. Chris Tobit, CEO of Airtel Bangladesh said that the cellco is preparing for providing 'the best quality services' and will shortly start a 3G 'education and awareness program' for its customers.
