DOCOMO, Ericsson, Intel to build 5G 'trial environment'

Japan's NTT DOCOMO is teaming up with Ericsson of Sweden and Intel to develop a 5G trial environment in central Tokyo beginning next year. Centred on the testing and development of use case applications and radio performance in non-laboratory environmenst, the three firms will work toward the implementation of DOCOMO'S end-to-end system including 5G radio, baseband,virtualised radio access network (RAN) and core network.
