The ISO 14000 series of Environmental Management standards are a result of the ISO's commitment to promoting a systematic and structured approach to environ- Mental management, by evolving and establishing a set of international criteria. These standards are being so designed as to make industries environmentally Sensitive, with more efficient use of raw materials and wastes, reduction in emis- sions and increased investments in pollution control and cleaner technologies.
