In the third of a series of four articles dedicated to satellite-based telephony services, Ron Mankarious, Vice President of Marketing at Canada's NSI Communications, explains how Very Small Aperture Terminal (VSAT) satellite technology can be used to bring modern telecommunications to remote locations. Gong are the days when satellite communications were only seen as poor relations of terrestrial systems. In recent years, the reputation of satellite-based solutions is grown to such an extent that satellite technology is now increasingly seen as an effective and efficient means of delivering a host of telecommunications services to end-users.
