There is no shortage of books on the role of national and international legal systems in responding to anthropogenic global warming. In recent years there have been a flurry of books in this field, many written by academics and practitioners in Australia, despite (and perhaps because of) the slow pace of climate law reform in that jurisdiction. Notable contributions include Tim Bonyhady and Peter Christoff (eds), Climate Law in Australia,' D Hodgkinson and R Garner, Global Climate Change: Australian Law and Policy,2 Nicola Durrant, Legal Responses to Climate Change3 and Ben Saul, Steven Sherwood, Jane McAdam, Tim Stephens and James Slezak, Climate Change and Australia: Warming to the Global Challenge.4 Other relevant works include Ross Garnaut, The Garnaut Climate Change Review5 which, although it is not focussed on legal issues, addresses the key economic issues that underlie the development of an effective regulatory response to climate change.
