Aerial firefighting with the Firehawk Helicopter

Additionally, UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters operated by the National Guard, a reserve military force of the United States, as well as commercial operators with UH-60A and UH-60L models, also fought the fires with water buckets suspended beneath the aircraft. Aerial firefighting with helicopters has advanced significantly in the first two decades of this century because of the pioneering efforts by the County of Los Angeles Fire Department.
