TECH WEBINAR SERIES 2020

The ABU Technology hosted and organised its 2020 annual webinar series from 7 to 29 September. The series included presentations on different aspects and applications of broadcast and media technology. Some of the topics were taken from symposiums, workshops, and webinars presented by experts from around the globe, earlier in the year. This allowed participants who had not been able to attend those activities to benefit from the expert presentations. As in previous years, the webinar sessions were grouped under different themes. These were: 1.Broadcast Engineering Basics 2.Cloud & Al Technologies and Applications 3.SDI to IP Migration and Implementation 4.HDR Technology and Applications 5.CDN/OTT/IBB Implementation The first week mostly covered the basics of audio, video and IP technology, and other engineering fundamentals for broadcast engineers and technologists. The topics were. Audio fundamentals, video principles; IP workflow basics; Cloud and visualisation basics, and Transmission basics. The presenters walked through the fundamentals of audio, video and IT systems, discussing the underlying engineering techniques and applications.
