The extraordinary news that North Korea's President Kim Jong-un has offered to meet United States President Donald Trump - and that Trump has accepted - was breaking as this magazine went to press in mid-March. The meeting is due to take place by May this year. While the prospect of a meeting between the two leaders who only recently traded insults could be a tremendous opportunity for breakthrough dialogue and a release of tension that many analysts had believed was heading towards military conflict, it could equally lead to potential disappointment and further danger.
