The electronics industry these days is pondering a bewildering proliferation of digital and multimedia technologies. At least one company, however, sees a very clear path through the diversity. "We have a unique strategy: We actually do what we say we're going to do," declares Bob Swanson, Chief Executive Officer at Linear Technology Corp. "We will try to become a specialist in the high-performance analog market." He continues, "It turns out there are many, many markets that we are not a specialist at, but that's ok...We don't let our success in the market that we're in tempt us to go off and do something else."
