Digital Terrestrial TV Broadcasting Multimedia Experiments

In addition to BS digital broadcasting, we have been digitalizing terrestrial TV broadcast- ing. The introduction of digital terrestrial TV broadcasting services are expected by 2003 in the Kanto, Kinki, and Tokai districts. This implementation is expected to be completed by 2006 in the rest of Japan. In order to meet these deadlines, experimental facilities for digital TV broadcasting have been constructed at 10 sites by the Telecommunications Advancement Organization of Japan (TAO).
