Fifth Generation TFT-LCD Factory Boosts CMO's Global Strength

Taiwan's Chi Mei Group is set to stamp its class in the TFT LCD industry as the Group's major subsidiary, Chi Mei Optoelectronics (CMO), opened its fifth generation plant in August at the Tainan Science-based Industrial Park. CMO's fifth generation TFT LCD plant can produce 120,000 units of 1,100 x 1,300mm glass substrates per month. The plant adopts the one drop fill (ODF) infusion technology that CMO has been employing in its 4G production. Worth noting is the company's innovation of the automated Direct Docking Stacker (DDS), which aims to boost its management efficiency. These factors reinforce CMO's bid to become one of the most competitive TFT LCD makers in the world.
