A few years from now, tens of millions of Bluetooth-enabled devices will exist worldwide, offering significant connectivity opportunities for communications, commerce, and information exchange. Research firm IDC forecasts that the cellular handset market would experience the biggest growth over the next few years with 51 percent of Bluetooth revenues in 2006. Driving the development and promotion of the technology is the Bluetooth Special Interest Group (SIG), which includes companies such as 3Com, Ericsson, IBM, Intel, Lucent Technologies, Microsoft, Motorola, Nokia and Toshiba.
