There are two themes that are driving technology nowadays -convergence and mobility, and these topics were the highlights at CommunicAsia 2006. With these themes shaping the fields of information technology (IT), communications and media field, CommunicAsia ran simultaneously with EnterpriseIT and BroadcastAsia in support of this present market trend. Held at the Singapore Expo from June 20 to 23, the three shows became more tightly integrated. Altogether, there were 2,339 exhibiting companies from 67 countries and 30 group pavilions. There were 63,814 attendees, 49 percent from overseas. Technologies highlighted at this year's exhibition traverse the telecommunications, networks, enterprise solutions and entertainment arenas. The convergence within an all-digital environment enables new and flexible uses of products and services. This allows for greater mobility as people take their work on the road or access entertainment services while on the move.
