Several years ago, Renesas Technology Corp. released the first version of LSIs that integrate a baseband processor and applications processors in a single chip for mobile terminals, the SH-Mobile Gl series. Recently, the company has started shipping samples of products for the G2 series. The release of these new models signals the company's readiness to develop a sales strategy for the global market that would be supported by its technical expertise in the third-generation (3G) mobile handsets.
