Hitachi Via Mechanics Produces PWB Drilling Machines in China

Hitachi Via Mechanics, Ltd. has embarked on the production of drilling machines for printed wiring boards (PWBs) in China and plans to expand the business in the future. The company's business in China is being managed by Hitachi Via Me- chanics (Changshu), Ltd., whose operations commenced in August 2010. Hitachi Via Mechanics (Changshu) has shipped the ND-6CS220 drilling machine, which has been newly developed as a global standard model, on full scale. For the time being, the company plans to produce the ND-6CS220 only, aiming at the monthly production of 40 units in FY2011. In the near future, it plans to establish a production system that can output 1,000 units a year.
