MediaTek's MT6605 NFC Solution Provides Impetus to Future Mobile Devices

MediaTek Inc. has introduced the MT6605 dual-SIM plus one micro SD card-capable near field communications (NFC) solution for adoption on a wide range of mainstream mobile platforms. In an interview with AEI, Evan Su, DTV Product Line Chief Officer, Home Entertainment Business Unit at MediaTek, said the product, which he said is the industry's first, features a unique three single-wire protocol (SWP) architecture, allows co-existence of multiple applications. These applications include information exchange and retrieval, ticketing, access control and authentication, as well as location-based services and device pairing, all on a single mobile device, through simple and secure contactless connections.
