Yamaha Motor Co., Ltd. has released the LCM100 linear conveyor module developed with the concept of "Connect, expand, and create." The LCM100 linear conveyor module was developed as a replacement for belt conveyors or roller conveyors that are used for transferring products in a factory. Each module is comprised of linear motor, slider, and controller. The workpieces are placed on a slider and transferred between manufacturing pro- cesses. Mainstream conventional conveyors transfer workpieces in a fixed direction at a fixed speed. The LCM100 module uses its controller to control the speed of the slider and movement to a location (such as the stop position) at high speed and with high accuracy.
