Smart Shirts Trial Aims to Improve Safety of Airport Workers

Toray Industries Inc., Japan Airlines (JAL), and NTT Communications have started joint demonstration testing of safety control services for workers in which smart shirts are used at Naha Airport in Okinawa. This joint demonstration testing is carried out on a safety control system aimed at creating safe working environments for outdoor workers at airports by exploiting technologies such as Internet of Things (IoTs) and Hitoe - a functional fabric that allows users to provide personal information, like such as cardiac rates and cardiac potentials, by simply wearing it.
