MHL Consortium Paves Way for 8K Video-Capable Standard

MHL LLC, a consortium of technology companies that cooperate in the development of Mobile High-definition Link (MHL), an audio-video (A/V) interface standard for mobile devices, has introduced in January the SuperMHL. SuperMHL is the next-generation version of the MHL specification, which supports 8K videos and color depth of 48bits. TV and mobile terminal manufacturers will soon adopt the said technology in their respective consumer-end products.
