Bullish Smartphone Market in China Spurs CKD's 3D SPI Machines

CKD Corporation has been posting brisk sales of three-dimensional (3D) solder printing inspection machines. 3D solder printing inspection machines inspect on the plane and in the height direction whether appropriate amount of solder is applied accurately along the wiring pattern after solder paste is printed on printed wiring boards (PWBs). Kunio Takahashi, General Manager and Vice President, Automated Machine Division, CKD Corporation, says, "Unit sales have been increasing overseas, in particular, in China and the Asian region. In usual years, sales in China peak in April to June, and then slow down. This year, however, sales do not slow down thanks to favorable sales to smart-phone manufacturers. Steady sales to automotive electronics and smartphone manufacturers continue in the Asian region as well."
