Data Explosion Spurs Innovations in Memory Chip Technologies

For Intel Corp., Internet of Things (IoT) devices and cars of today are a sort of data centers where data are gathered, processed, analyzed, managed and stored to see and sense around themselves, locate their positions, and make decisions based on their findings. Intel estimates that a car today generates 4TB of data per day. Its built-in sensor cocoon composed of Light Detection and Ranging (LiDar), radar, and cameras gather data to warn drivers of possible collisions with other cars or objects, lane departures, and objects in a blind spot.
