Established in 1988, FUKUTA ELEC. & MACH. CO., LTD. has expanded its business centering on industrial-use general-purpose motors and servo motors. In 2005, it started delivering motors to a start-up electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer in North America and this marked the company's foray to full-scale EV motor business. At present, the company has expanded the EV motor business to low-floor EV buses, and electric motorcycles, as well as EVs. The EV-related business accounts for almost half of the company's sales, becoming the motive power for business expansion of the company.
