High availability, data transformation products going their separate ways?

High availability solution providers seem to think that IBM's AS/400e Model 170 and the ever-increasing attention to the Internet are combining to finally move the demand for their products beyond the 5% of the market that has been their ceiling. The AS/400 high-availability market has been a 3-horse race involving DataMirror, Lakeview Technology, and Vision Solutions. DataMirror formally split its product line introducing all the components needed for a high-availability suite. Lakeview announced a worldwide remarketing agreement with IBM Global Services and acquisition of Praxis International. Vision had expanded its crossplatform data replication capabilities with the release of Symbiator Version 2.6.
