The Army and Joint Forcible Entry

The August article '"Stacking Iron'-MAFEX Prepares Air Assets For Army Forcible Entry Operations" was of great interest. Earlier in this decade, Joint Forces Command was developing a joint integrating concept QIC) entitled joint forcible entry operations (JFEO). Unfortunately, that JIC did not survive the Joint Requirements Oversight Council review, and work was terminated in 2005. This has led to inconsistencies and lack of jointness in today's thinking about joint forcible entry operations, which is particularly germane to the transformed Army responding to contingencies in the future.
