Interesting aspects of the Reserves and National Guard are the unique lives outside of military service that are led by the part-time Soldiers - those of us that are TPU and M-Day Soldiers.One such unique individual is CW3(P) Kevin Afflick. He is currently a UH-60L pilot in the US Army Reserves while working full time as a helicopter pilot for the Charleston County Sheriff's Department. Kevin grew up in St. Andrews parish, close to Kingston, Jamaica. Family was a big part of his life and he is still close with the family that still live there. His upbringing and the standards set for him are a large reason why he is so successful today. Kevin's mother was a schoolteacher, so doing poorly in school was not an option.
