Results of original investigations on creep and relaxation are presented in the paper. Empirically determined values of rheological coefficients of creep and re- laxation functions of concrete loaded at The age of 12 to 72 hours that specify the initial period of the so-called "rapid creep period" are much higher than those calculated according to Code recommendations. Importance of the influence of rhe- ological phenomena on the effort of early age concrete was confirmed in kinematic tension tests.
