摘要

Selected problems concerning properties, calculation and design of cable structures are presented in this paper. At the beginning, a review of contemporary cable structures was done, their characteristic features and properties were described, and their advantages and disadvantages were indicated. Then the types and properties of cables used in cable structures were described. The principal part of the paper pertains to the methods of cable structures static analysis with particular consideration for the finite element methods. The cable element stiffness matrix was presented and properties thereof described, followed by the presentation of calculation methods for the nonlinear deformable systems, such as cable structures. In the next part of the paper the issues of initial geometrical variability of cable nets and the methods of calculation of such structures were discussed. Finally the application of curvilinear elements and the issue of influence of the edge beam stiffness on the state of forces and displacements in the cable structure was presented. The selected and discussed problems are of an important practical significance and can be used in designning of cable structures.
