Security, but not in the conventional sense of house fully equipped with various alarm systems, was the client's most important requirement for this single family house just 20 km southwest of Warsaw. Therefore the young, Katowice-based architects practice KWK Promes headed by Robert Konieczny "packaged" the core of the house in an innovative typology.rnTangible security In earlier projects, such as the "OUT-rial" and "Aatrial" houses, Konieczny had already examined the meaning of the term "private". In "OUTrial", a building that blends together with the landscape, the private outdoor area was moved onto the raised grass roof that can only be accessed from the belly of the house. The "Aatrial" further develops these themes. An approach road incised in the landscape leads visitors into an atrium beyond the building from which they can enter the house and the site. Private space is declared a "secure zone". The "secure house" that was completed last year presents the highpoint of this development.
