Eine der ersten Ausstellungen, die der neue Direktor des Wiener Museums für angewandte Kunst MAK, Christoph Thun-Hohenstein, eröffnete, widmet sich der Architektur und dem öffentlichen Raum - angewandte Kunst im besten Sinne.Es handelt sich dabei um die erste Einzelausstellung von Michael Wallraff, der 2008 im Architekturprogramm der Krea-tivwirtschafts-Förderagentur departure für ein Projekt über vertikalen öffentlichen Raum eine Förderung gewann. Thun-Hohenstein lernte Wallraffs Zugang in seiner Zeit als departure-Geschäftsführer schätzen, sodass nun die Resultate dieses Projektes im MAK der Öffentlichkeit präsentiert werden können. In einer netzbespannten Stabstruktur, quasi einem vergrößerten Modell der ausgestellten Projekte, werden Modelle und Videos gezeigt.%One of the first exhibitions to be opened by Christoph Thun-Hohen-stein,the new director of Vienna's Museum of Applied Arts, is devoted to architecture and public space -applied art in the best sense of the term. This is the first solo exhibition by Michael Wallraff who in 2008 was awarded a grant by the architecture program of departure, an agency that promotes creative industries, to carry out a project on vertical public spaces. It was while Thun-Hohen-stein was managing director of departure that he first encountered Wallraff's approach and this later enabled the results of the project to be presented to the public in MAK. The models and videos are shown in a structure of rods spanned with nets, so to speak an enlarged version of the projects exhibited.
