Architect Karl Odorizzi first of all studied graphic design and painting, then song, stage design and dramaturgy. On the occasion of his 80th birthday he said about architecture: "we must leave out the notion of pleasing. The issue is not taste but: is something right or wrong?" Up until the 1970s his school buildings were a model of social change. In terms of building physics they are outdated, but not as regards programme. He developed the type of the hall school in which the rooms are grouped around an atrium that encourages communication (photo Archive Odorizzi). The afo architekturzentrum oberoes-terreich is devoting a show to Karl Odorizzi's work.
