Smiljan Radic: Since quite long ago, we have taken the theme of creating "refuges". What we mean when we say "refuges" is a place that exists at a certain distance from reality. Marcela Correa: It is also a place where one can feel very safe and secure. At the 12th International Architecture Exhibition of Venice Biennale in 2010, when taking this hideaway "refuges" theme, we displayed a natural granite block with a cedar box placed inside for the light to come in. For our exhibition this time, however, we wondered if we couldn't use something more familiar and everyday to express the same concept.
