Report: Green Museum As Urban Laboratory

White Cube, Green Maze: New Art Landscapes began as alecture one Sunday afternoon at Lismore Castle in Ireland. Lismore is a blessed spot, a castle built up and furnished over centuries, with a walled garden and parkland. That setting stimulated the lecture and that lecture stimulated the prospect of an exhibition to examine this emerging museum typology. These institutions allow for many constituent parts. They mix old and new, use the talents of several designers, and prioritize landscape, or topography, as much as architecture and building. Ultimately visitors create their own route of exploration, a personalized sequence of experience.
