"We have here a separation of the "home/hearth" concept from the material paraphernalia of dwelling. Where the previous agriculturally based home/family unit was largely bound by its economic work relations, we may now note a separation of affectional relations from economic and other material considerations. There is a progressive de-materialization of human relations inherent in industrialization which has been obscured in its transitional phases. Merely material and economic factors are increasingly transcended by human value needs."
