The road crossing Sognefjell mountain area is the highest road pass in Norway. The road is a main connection between the east and west part of the country, and during a few summer months this route is used by thousands of tourists on their way to the fjords at the west coast. The route itself is one of the scenic highlights of the country. The travelers make many stops along the road, and spend a lot of time outside the car to watch the magnificent natural landscape.
