Summer House Addition Alm

This is an extension of a summer house from 1968 designed by Norwegian architect Wenche Selmer. Selmer was a demanding and highly respected teacher of mine at the Oslo School of Architecture. The addition was therefore both honorable and -not to be denied - charged with performance anxiety. Three new bedrooms, a bathroom and a storage space was gathered around the old building without really touching it, creating a series of new outdoor spaces and passages. The existing sloping roof was extended in three directions.
