The house is located in one of the larger towns in the northern part of Zealand, 40 km from Copenhagen. The original house was built in 1961 and was quite small. In 2014 the owners decided to extend and transform the house instead of relocating. The idea was to expand the house with an autonomous volume, but it was important to maintain the individual spatial qualities of both the new and the old part of the house, at the same time creating a composite yet coherent communal character.
