This issue features works and interviews of the six emerging architects in the United States. Over the last twenty years, architecture in the US has ridden through the waves of changing trends such as digital design, globalization and social design, which these architects experienced as students and apprentices before starting their own practices. What they learned during this period formed the basis of their thinking. However, their approach to architecture seems different from previous generations perhaps owing to improved information accessibility and networking with like-minded contemporaries through social media. Their predecessors attempted to create a single movement by pursuing novelty and authorship. On the contrary, they pursue their own interests and affinities which seem to scatter in all directions, but at the same time, they share a collective consciousness and are willing to form networks depending on the situation and collaborate with contemporaries in the same or different fields.
