Since the second half of the 20th century, we have been able to achieve artificial comfort in our shelterd environments with the push of a button (on/off). This technology has led us to an uncontrolled consumption of energy while we have ignored all the knowledge, inherited generation after generation, that has turned our homes into efficient, passive managers of external conditions (taking advantage or protecting us from these conditions). The planet has not resisted this waste of energy, and the real quality of the buildings has been affected (a lot). Additionally, this architecture has taken humanity away from nature, instead of bringing them (us) closer together. These 2 facts force us to return, in a way, to recover the ancestral line of evolution, broken a century ago, rediscovering an indispensable link with nature. This reconnection should be understood as a real and essential improvement, far from any superficial luxury.
