a+u spoke to Shajay Bhooshan, Senior Associate of Zaha Hadid Architects and co-founder of ZHAs computational design research group (ZH CODE). a+u: Generally speaking, how do you use computational design? Shajay Bhooshan: At ZH CODE, we seek a co-evolution of research and practice. Our research spans computational geometry, the wisdom of traditional building cultures and the modern discipline of computational design and robotic fabrication and manufacturing. In parallel, we apply such project-independent disciplinary knowledge with project-based opportunities, constraints and problems.
